Bucket Reviews' Favorites
Baaab's Insanity - While
his output has recently slowed, his
viewing log is a great place to find film recommendations.
Film Blather
- Eugene Novikov imbues a very everyday and comforting quality into his writing, and his site is a very personal smattering of thoughts on all the latest movies.
The Flick Filosopher
- MaryAnn Johansson is hysterical! Her reviews are witty, intelligent, and
entertaining to read. A very limited number of critics are actually able to
maintain a distinct, fun writing style in each and every review they piece
together, and she is one of them.
Flipside Movie Emporium - Michael
B. Schruntin, Eric Beltmann, Rob Vaux, and crew are some of the best writers on
the Web. I read
practically every review that's posted on the site, and frequently discuss film on the
forum (stop by sometime). The site features reviews of both mainstream movies and more
independent fare.
Mark Reviews Movies - Mark Dujsik
is one of the web's finest film critics. His site is presented in a deceivingly bare-bones
design, but it is one worth checking for always-engaging
writing.
The Man Who Viewed
Too Much - Mike D'Angelo is the unfortunate pioneer of the 100-point-scale, but also
one of the best writers working today. His compact and condensed reviews always
offer something truly juicy to sink your teeth into.
Michael Medved
- Both a movie reviewer and the best political talk show host on AM radio. Perhaps
one of the most insightful figures in the Media today.
Michael Savage
- A close second to Medved on Talk Radio, Savage tells it like it is (at least
some of the time).
The Movie Boy
- Dustin Putman is a gifted writer with unique tastes. He's also the only critic
whose only mailing list I subscribe to, if that's worth anything.
Reel Views -
James Berardinelli isn't an exceptional writer, but he has better taste than any
other online
reviewer. If you're looking for film recommendations, his site is a great place to
start.
Roger Ebert
- After all these years of criticism, he's still the best. My inspiration.
Qwipster's Movie Reviews
- Vince Leo is an honest and concise movie-buff with some great insights and a
huge amount of reviews, both new and old, available on his fun little film site.
Link Exchanges
AIM Icons - If you chat
on AIM and need a movie buddy icon, this is the place to find one.
All Movie Portal - Whoa! I remember when this site just started shaping up. They
actually wanted me to link to them. Now it's distinguished and
very commercial, but it's definitely one of the best places to search for movie data
of all sorts. If you can't find what you're looking for on IMDB or Yahoo!
Movies, this is another fine source to search.
Are You Insane?
- Oh, look at the things me and my buddy Steven Cipriano got into when we were
in middle-school...
Cover Script - Have a script, but not
sure if it's good? Get professional help at reasonable rates for all your
screenwriting needs. Constructive criticism (or fabulous praise) ensues.
Film Propaganda
- A neat little database of six different reviewers' thoughts on current films.
This is the kind of site I could spend a whole day browsing.
Future Movies
- One tasty British review and filmmaking site.
Joe Critic
- Entertainment reviews from an average Joe;
movie and entertainment reviews written for real people. Because everyone's a
critic!
Movieman's Guide to the Movies
- Now equipped with a full team of regular reviewers, this review site keeps
expanding more and more every day.
Movie Pig - Rank movies, receive
recommendations, and compare your tastes with almost every critic under the sun,
including yours truly! If you spend enough time using this and inputting titles
onto your list, it's very accurate.
Movie Review Guys
- My internet-friend Oscar's site, which has a bunch of short and concise
reviews of new releases. Stop by and chat on the message board with us!
Movie Track
- Movie news, reviews, and technology with a splendid, user-friendly layout.
Pixelstate - Chris and his team of great graphic designers created the
beautiful original images on Bucket Reviews, and I'd definitely recommend their
services. If you're tight on budget and need a great design, this is definitely
the place to go for your graphic needs.
