This is a very unique idea for a
movie, even though most people don't think so. I loved The Sum
of All Fears beyond explanation. This might be hard to take
right after 9/11, but the entertainment industry will be the
entertainment industry and how very well they entertain. The three
keys to The Sum of All Fears outstanding performance were
the acting, drama, and plot. As a whole, this film reigned
supreme.
The acting was wonderful in this movie. Surprisingly, Ben
Affleck offered an above average performance in this case. He was
a whole lot better here than he was in Changing Lanes!
Morgan Freeman brought something exceptional to the table. They
made the movie have a certain realism to it, because they played
the stereotypical roles of what you'd expect the characters to be
like. I would definitely like to thank the casting direct of
The Sum of All Fears.
I loved the drama and suspense constantly building in this
film; it captured my undivided attention immensely. The though
provoking chills came from the characters and plot binding closer
and closer together. As the movie grew on, you gained emotional
attachment for the diverse characters. When a movie can make you
feel emotional attachment it shows you what a close simulation to
real life it is. It's the actors job to help make you feel the
attachment.
Another thing I found wonderful about this film was the
story. The writer of the original book, Tom Clancy, is really
quite amazing. He writes every day of every week of every year,
yet never stops making wonderful action stories. The script was
the magic here, as it is in almost every other film ever made! I
cannot stress enough about the importance of a good script.
As a whole, The Sum of All Fears was a remarkable
film. Ben Affleck is showing rapid signs of improvement in his
acting. Morgan Freeman put on a delightful performance. Clancy
offered a delightful (You Know What I Mean) story. And it all tied
together to create one heck of a film. The Sum of All Fears
is definitely worth your while.
