Danny Baldwin is a 21-year-old
writer and film critic operating out of Downtown Los Angeles,
California and San Diego, California. He is a third-year
Communication student
at the University of
Southern California's Annenberg School.
Danny has
maintained and written for his personal film review website,
Bucket Reviews, since January 2002 at the age of 12. While
Bucket Reviews was initially only read by Danny's closest
friends and family, it has grown exponentially in circulation
over the years. Now, the site receives substantial
unique viewers per month and operates in conjunction with a
well-read 'blog component,
The Bucket 'Blog.
Danny loves all
things related to film, but has particularly strong affinities for 1940s film
noir, French New Wave, 1990s thrillers, and contemporary drama.
His favorite films include Hayao Miyazaki's My Neighbor
Totoro, Jonathan Demme's The Silence of the Lambs,
Steve James' Hoop Dreams, Fritz Lang's M, and
Billy Wilder's Double Indemnity.
Danny attends the
AFI Film Festival, Los Angeles Film Festival, San Diego Film
Festival, and San Diego Comic Convention on an annual basis. In
2009, he covered the South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin,
TX and, while he'll be missing 2010, plans to return in 2011.
When he isn't
watching or reviewing new movies, Danny is likely furthering his
cinematic education on Blu-Ray, catching up
with recent TV shows, or getting frustrated on the golf links.
